Cool! Altho I have been out since 04 I have not really gotten into X-mas. My wife wants to get a white X-mas tree.

COOKS IN BETHEL
by jam inquestions for you ex-bethel brothers and sisters.. 1) what are the requirements to be a cook in bethel?
this is a gravy job.
) everyone sucks up too the cook.. 2) if someone miss a meal due too oversleeping or his or her job.

Another thing on seconds...when you are at the table the table head sends out the dish for refills. If it was something people liked you cleaned the first serving to get the dish picked up by the waiters to get more.

As for price I think it was at cost. I seem to remember .25 for an ice cream sandwhich.

I wasnt a cook but that was my dream job at bethel.
The answer to your questions that I do know
1.
2.That I knew of no food is set aside do to you oversleeping. I heard stories of if brothers were working on special projects food being brought to them but I never saw or heard of it in action during my 2 yrs there.
3.No you can glean some bread and stuff to make your own but there were no provisions of sandwhiches made up for you.

6.no but there was a commisary were you could buy some snack foods at a reduced price (compared to the store or market.)
7.On sat it was a regular work day so same as weekday breakfast lunch and a dinner served. on sundays you were expected to be with the congo's so they had pancakes for breakfast no lunch and dinner.
Another thing for you to know at bethel the big meal was lunch. breakfast would be stuff like quich granola cereal, lunch would be a lil hearty-er and dinner was really just a good snack to get you thru the evening. My favorite was the beef stroganoff (beef gravy over shell noodles.)

Comparing the old elder's handbook to the new...
by undercover inas i've read through the new elder's book, something kept nagging at me about it.
then i went to compare one passage in the new book to the old and it hit me.
i've mentioned it on a couple of posts, but i wanted to start a thread on it.... what hit me was that the new book was like an instruction manual to supervisors in a plant.

Billy the ex bethelite: Elders are getting dumber and many of them were interpreting the text of the old book in ways that "mother" didn't intend. So they had to dumb it down and make it more direct. The next edition will be at the level of "Fun with Dick and Jane... porneia drawings included"

I am convinced that the org Now is being run by those who would be considered week in the past. Y'no those who couldn't even read the subheading at the BS are now elders.

by clarity ini would appreciate your help trying to explain to a jw, how someone could just read a bible on their own and understand what it is all about.
without an organization.. also, how could nonchristians or pagans etc find out about christ without someone to teach them?
after 45 years of using the bible, it is easy for me to say to jesus question "who will you go away to?

Like pahpa mentioned the ethipopian eunich is a great example. Phillip used scripture to justify the christ plus as the story ends we are told 'he went away rejoicing.' There were no accounts of him having to meet with the GB or any of the BS that the WT would have you believe. ANother good example is that of Jesus apostle who found someone expelling demons in Jesus name and they tried to make him stop. Jesus rebuked his apostles and thus justified the other persons actions.

that would explain the mass killings of people while still saying that he is a god of love.
